You Make a Difference

Winter Growth’s success can be attributed to its dedicated staff members and supportive families as well as to the many generous members of the community who contribute to the work that we do. The support of volunteers in particular has made it possible for Winter Growth to exceed licensing standards and offer programs that focus on the unique needs and interests of the people we serve.

YOU are invited to become a part of our mission to help seniors and adults with disabilities continue to achieve their highest potential for independence, dignity, and life satisfaction.

Group Opportunities

  • Conduct a Technology Class(es) and help our seniors become more comfortable with tasks such as sending and responding to emails, using search engines, and creating word documents.
  • Come in and host a holiday or other event such as a Sip and Paint, Tailgate Party, Fall Festival, Deck the Halls decorating day, or Carnival.
  • Lend a hand with everyday fun, such as physical or learning activities, serving and cleaning up during snack or lunchtime, gardening, playing board games or bingo, creating craft projects, or just spending time getting to know our clients.
  • Share your talents and interests! Play an instrument? We love listening and dancing to different types of music. Have a special hobby? Come talk about it. We’re open to your volunteering ideas!
  • From building standing garden boxes to re-staining our siding, we can often use teams of skilled volunteers to help us with maintenance and landscaping projects.
  • Families are encouraged to volunteer – providing a wonderful opportunity for children too young to volunteer on their own to experience the value of giving back.
  • Faith communities are welcome to offer services onsite or to coordinate special events.
  • Join us for special days such as Maryland Day to Serve, MLK Day of Service, or any Federal Holiday.
